The printed newspaper has always been recognized as the most traditional and influential medium to reach the public and, despite the development of other mass media (internet, TV, radio), it has not been able to be surpassed. And an integral part of newspapers have been comics. Almost from the beginning of journalism they were there, becoming an inseparable part and a "characteristic seal" of the written press. Readers benefit from having a moment of leisure from the daily news and, at the same time, editors reinforce public loyalty to the newspaper. A single newspaper strip a day (comic) can contribute to a positive identification of the reader with the medium.
We offer, to choose from, three titles that meet that need, all with a script and drawings by our prolific cartoonist (comic artist) Waly West. Below we present a summary of the comics, but you can see a large sample on the corresponding pages. Please, if you are interested in any of the titles, go to the "Contact" section to get our email.
DR. SCREWY: Patients with the most unlikely and hilarious cases appear at Dr. Screwy's office; but more witty are the answers provided by this clueless doctor. An instant of humor guaranteed.
SPORTY: Can you do humor with sports? The Sporty cartoon proves that it is. All sports disciplines are covered here, especially soccer, with the most crazy and fun situations that can occur. Any sports fan (or not) will enjoy reading it.
SAYING'S TODAY: The title says it all. Humor based on a set phrase. Proverbs, famous phrases and popular sayings are an integral part of culture and have not been forgotten despite time. This comic gives them a humorous twist with unusual results, making the reader smile.
CURLY: This character brings us humor without words. Although developing these types of ideas seems easy, it really is not. But there is an advantage: It does not have any language barriers!
